Grape Varieties Moscatel Galego clusters from 40 years old vineyards.The vineyards are located in the sub-region of Cima-Corgo (Alijó) and are at an average altitude of 600 meters.
The producer Tiago Sampaio, established his label in 2007, having completed his PhD in Oregon. Tiago is an advocate for sustainable viticulture and the production of natural wines in the Douro. He cultivates vineyards between 500-700m – a mix of inherited old field blend vineyards and new plantings, where the boundary pusher has planted Alvarinho and Tinta Francisca.
Winemaking Destemming of whole berries into cement tank, without any mechanical extraction. Maceration on the skins during 4 months. No SO2 added, No finning or filtration. Minimal Intervention, natural wine.
Tasting notes The extended skin contact gives it an intense yellow colour. Aromas of rose petals, lichees and tangerine. Medium-bodied palate with a chewy grapefruit core. Some tannin tension and medium acidity, leading to a prolonged finish.
Food Pairing Goan fish curry or Thai-style vegetables stir-fried with ginger and lime
Serving recommendations Serve fresh, between 10-12°C. Shake and sediment and serve cloudy.
