Grape varieties This field blend contains over 25 native Portuguese varieties with nearly equal amounts of red and white grape.
The producer Tiago Sampaio, established his label in 2007, having completed his PhD in Oregon. Tiago is an advocate for sustainable viticulture and the production of natural wines in the Douro. He cultivates vineyards between 500-700m – a mix of inherited old field blend vineyards and new plantings, where the boundary pusher has planted Alvarinho and Tinta Francisca.
Winemaking Traditional Douro ‘Palhete’ or ‘Clarete’; somewhere between a rose and a light red. Made entirely from 80-year-old vines planted on 2 hectares of schist and granite. Natural and unfiltered.
Tasting notes Dusky pink its wild and lively, full of crunchy, bright red fruit with a vegetal earthy and savory finish.
